My Blurb:
Caymen helps her mom in her shop called “Dolls and more.” There she meets Xander, who, judging by his outfit and confidence is totally rich. Knowing her mom’s experience with a rich guy, she tries hard to deny her attraction and her friendship with him. Xander, an heir to a big business, finds himself enjoying the company of the ordinary Caymen than any of his rich friends. Together, they help each other discover what they want in the future and if their future would include the other.
“Feelings can be the most costly thing in the universe.”
My Thoughts:
I
have only read a few lines from the first chapter and I know I would totally
enjoy this book. I love Caymen, she’s funny, smart and sarcastic and I really
like her odd personality. Though some people might hate sarcasm, I like it a
lot because I sometimes see me in her.
Xander
is also a great character. He’s rich a bit too high and mighty, but when you
get to know him more, he’s just like the typical sweet guy next door.
The
supporting characters in the story are also cute, funny, and weird. They help
the mold the main characters beautifully.
“Anything worth having is worth the risk.”
One
of the things I like in the story is because the protagonists, knowing what
they are doing now isn’t what they want in the future, is helping each other
looking for what path to take on. It is a journey of not only self-discovery,
but also knowing each other more.
It
has lots of drama especially in the last few chapters when it came to the part
involving Caymen’s mom, the truth of her ‘hatred’ for the rich. But it then
gets resolved, though I think it was mended too fast. The only qualm I had for
this was that the ending was too fast. Heck, I was enjoying the book and I when
I flipped another page, the story already ended. I was like, “Really? That’s
it?” I would’ve appreciated more if there was an epilogue.
I
really like the book; it made me laugh, cry, and giggle like a schoolgirl. Kasie West really did an awesome job, I would definitely like a sequel of this one.
“Sometimes it’s the little things that bring that special someone back to us in some small way.”
